"Meteor" was a song released by Birmingham, England-based EDM artist Glow Beets, featuring singer, producer, and American Idol finalist Robbie Rosen on May 29th, 2020. I was given the opportunity to create an animated lyric video accompaniment in Adobe After Effects by the producer of the song, Glow Beets, of which was released on June 1st, 2020. This featured RGB splitting and keyframed displacements to give the lyric video a tone equivalent to that of its flashy, EDM genre.

Early in the storyboarding and ideation process, I had brainstormed an idea inspired by musician Porter Robinson's "Shelter" music video. This would've featured frame-by-frame animation centred around two characters with palettes reflective of Glow Beets' neon brand. However, this can really only be seen in the early storyboards, as the reality of a three-week deadline didn't allow time for complicated animation.

This project included a lot of experimenting with Adobe After Effects. Small elements such a 3-D-mapping and timing a wall of glass shattering were huge learning stamps for me.
